Hello there!

I’m Joanna, clinical naturopath, nutritionist and herbalist, and founder of Naturimedica Wholistic Wellcare.

I’ve been in clinical practice for 12+ years, first in Sydney, Australia and now, having made the ‘tree change’ a few years ago, I work and live by the beautiful Lake Macquarie in regional NSW.

The truth is that you don’t have to settle for feeling average or unwell, or run down, in pain or exhausted. The good news is that for each of us there is a best that we can feel, and it’s much better than you think!

As a natural therapist, my primary focus is on finding and fixing the root causes of your health issues, as well as providing symptom relief whilst the healing starts to happen.

I have a great passion for food therapy/ therapeutic nutrition used together with tailored herbal medicines and supplements, to achieve optimal results for each client.

Over my 12+ years of practice and clinical experience, I’ve developed extensive knowledge in applying food as medicine, dietary planning, nutritional and herbal supplementation and lifestyle adjustments to meet clients’ needs.

As a wholistic natural therapist, I believe diet and lifestyle are the foundation of our health and the key to having abundant energy, a healthy brain and good gut health, to name a few.

Because I’m personally dedicated to leading a healthy and active life (well, most of the time:), I’m committed to helping my clients to also achieve better health and wellbeing, no matter what their current circumstances or health status.

Importantly, my aim is also to educate my clients to ensure they have the knowledge and tools to help themselves to maintain health and vitality long term. Too often we are told ​’what’ to eat or do, without understanding ‘why’ and ‘how to’, don’t you think?

I have a huge passion for using food as a therapeutic tool and I firmly believe that diet is the best place to start when it comes to health. As a self-confessed foodie, I love cooking and providing clients with delicious, easy to make recipes during their nutrition therapy, as well here on the website.

Every therapy I apply or recommend is both evidence-based using data from published studies AND based on traditional empirical evidence and naturopathic remedies used for centuries.

My approach is highly personalised, which is different to the conventional medicine’s “one size fits all” or “treat the condition not the patient” approach.

Last but not least, I believe that care, respect and empathy are as important in healing as any scientific tools, drugs or natural remedies, as is taking the time to listen to client stories.
